12 July as England Day

Arguably 12 July 927 was the date when the formation of England was cemented when King Athelstan confirmed his power over all other rulers at a meeting at Eamont Bridge, near Penrith. I suggest that 12 July would be a good annual celebration - and eventually a national holiday in England.
